On January 15, 2024, the Carolina Hurricanes inducted Justin Williams into their Hall of Fame in a pregame ceremony before a game against the Los Angeles Kings. The opponent fit. Williams won two of his three Stanley Cups in Los Angeles, plus the 2014 Conn Smythe Trophy.

His legacy in Raleigh started in 2006. Williams was part of the team that won the franchise's only Stanley Cup, and he scored the empty-net goal that sealed Game 7 against Edmonton. Big moments like that earned him the nickname "Mr. Game 7."

He came back to Carolina in 2017. A year later, new head coach Rod Brind'Amour named him captain, and Williams led a young team back to the playoffs for the first time in a decade.

“I want to thank every single one of my teammates for challenging me every day to be better,” said Williams. “My friend and agent Thane Campbell for having my back all these years.”

Over parts of eight seasons with the Hurricanes, Williams put up 316 points in 449 games. Across 19 NHL seasons, he had 797 points."You look at the people and you see all these players and everybody is saying nice things about you," Williams said at the ceremony.
